The biggest craze during Paris fashion week was the talk of Rapper Kanye West’s new womenswear line. Some of the guests included Anna Wintour, Lindsay Lohan, Jared Leto, Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen, and Ciara. His first piece took the runway at 9:30pm. His line was shown at Lycee Henri IV, a private college in the Latin quarter. It was a very minimalist as was his collection, surprisingly opposite of Kanye’s style. His line received mixed reviews, but was praised for it’s certain freshness, and the highlight we shoes designed by Guiseppe Zanotti. I think Kanye definitely has a lot of potential in design and seeing a musician transition into the world of fashion definitely inspires Jay and I here at the Upper Echelon to keep pushing the boundaries. -UE
