Wearing prints are always a fun addition to any style of fashion whether it be strips, polka dots, zig sags or animal prints. In this case we are discussing tribal prints (the kind from Africa particularly).
African prints tend to display lots of color and patterns with a combination of various shapes and line connections as seen in these photos. Various groups and tribes with in the African culture would traditionally create different styles that are unique to their people and make sense for the weather conditions.
When wearing African patterns in modern western culture you want to make sure that you don’t over do it. I would suggest selecting 1 to 2 items max to wear in conjunction with modern western-world attire. in this case we have chosen to wear a African printed top and backpack while pairing these with a slim fit jean and a ball cap.
Generally you can find some of these garments online, at various cultural festivals or from the motherland herself. Give some of these traditional garments a try and make sure to tag us at @theupperechelon #theupperechelon with your look!
